Interview: Steve

Elloa: Greetings Steve
You are the one, the unique Steve, a name that everyone on Samael knows. How do you explain than a normal player can rise to fame like you?

Steve: Well I did not expect that at all. All I wanted was to play a game in my spare time, and since a friend of mine showed me Tera back in February, I thought I might try it out. And when it happend to me, I just played along. I don't want to take this game to serious, it's just a game, and when they fooled around with me I thought I might as well fool around with them. They where so cool to play along as well the Elin Dance Squad.  One of them gave me a town portal by accident, and I just used it to see where they all went  and that'a how I got to their hometown in the north.

Elloa: Was this character your very first character ? And this event initiated by <Elin Dance Squad> your very first experience of Tera?

Steve: This is my first and only char, but since I have seen my friend play some Tera Beta, I knew about the different races and how the combat worked and that there is a political system, don't know how it works though.

Elloa: What was your thoughts about this at that time?

Steve: "WTF!!!" was my first words I believe, but I just thought it was awesome. I have never tried anything like it before, and it made me feel special. I originally looked at "Steve" as a trial char, to see if I liked the Archer or not.. But after that welcome how can I ever delete that char.

Elloa: Steve is now one of the most emblematic icon of Samael, what will you do about this ? Any plan to use your name to improve your gaming experience ?

Steve: Haha! I will try to keep it that way. I have some plans about a guild I would like to make, can't tell you about it though. It's gonna be epic, and well fitting to Steve. But yeah Steve is not gonna fade away and I hope soon to have the time to be more ingame and on the forums. There are of course some haters... But seriously, there always are, so they don't bother me. And I'm getting so much love, especially from EDS. Minx (from EDS) made me a set of armor and a bow and Nasdur (also from EDS) made the bow +9

Elloa: How are you enjoying the game today?

Steve: I really like it. I'm solo fighting some BAMs at the moment, so that's really fun. But can't wait to hit end game content and do some PVP. And then there is the graphics in this game... It just looks so good.

Elloa: How do you like the Samael server. Do you want to try out another server and see how things are going there?

Steve: Hmm. I never had that tought.. And if I am It's not gonna be any time soon. I really like it here on Samael, even though I don't know much about what's going on. I can always find someone to speak to.

Elloa: Why did you choose a Barakha Archer? Have you tried another class, and another race that you enjoy more?

Steve: Haha! I don't know if I should tell you the origin of the Almighty Steve. All I can say is that it really fit him, and there can be only one Steve. And no, I have not tried any other class out yet... Though I'm considering making a lancer or sorcerer.. They look cool as well.

Elloa: Now, tell me a secret…Why Steve? Why this name?

Steve: Damn.. am I really to reveal the secret to the origin of Steve..? Hmmm.. NO!! All I can say is. that I was listening to  "Flight of the Conchords: The Hiphopopotamus vs. Rhymenocer"... And that song coment on Steve. And I just thought it would be Epic to be called that.. though I don't think I can explain how suprised I was when I found out no one had that name and when I found out I simply just had to try it out.
So put very simple... It is Steve because it is Steve, and it could be no other way.

Elloa: One day, will we see Steve Vanarch ?

Steve: Yeah sure. Don't have the time right now though, but as I said earlier... Steve already got some plans.
But first I'm gonna save the world. All the current Vanarch seem to focus on PVP and taxes... But what about the world we are all living in? What if this nightmare gets the upper hand...? What if Shara and Arun are to wake up..? What will there be left to rule? This threat can't be repelled by books...We need a united force..!! And I seek to find that.

Interview - Sunni of Hentai Pornstars

Interview about the political campaign with Sunni - guild leader of Hentai Pornstars.

Malera: Okay, so first let me ask you. Are you excited about the political system in Tera, and what do you hope it will achieve?
Sunni: Hmm not sure about excited but i'm rather intrigued to see how it will all work and play out. In truthfulness I've never played a game with a system similiar to this so it's all new to me so until this first vanarch period is over I'm not sure what I want it to do.

Malera: Your guild Hentai Pornstars is participating in the first election, is that correct?
Sunni: Absolutely.

Malera: When you started the guild, did you have this system in mind, or was it something that came later on?
Sunni: Originally the guild just started out as a few friends who came over to the game. Some people started taking a liking to our name and we had people joining to our surprise. After gaining a large amount of members we decided to switch over to being a real guild so the decision to run for vanarch came after.

Malera: How does it feel being a little smaller guild, trying to compete with bigger alliances, perhaps about the same province as you do?
Sunni: If i'm honest we was intimidated by others Vanarch campaigns so we decided to go for areas with less competition as we were unsure people would even vote for us.

Malera: So, which area are you going for?
Sunni: We originally planned to aim for Osgarath actually but then we saw Whitestar was also aiming for there so we completely backed out of there and decided to settle for anywhere in the Allemantheia district haha.

Malera: So lets say you get to rule the province you want. Could you tell our readers what will be the first thing you try to do?
Sunni: Well as Allemantheia is a higher level zone one of the first things we want to get open is the specialty vendors and we want to promote PvP within the game so possibly some events.

Malera: Last question
Sunni: Sure thing.

Malera: What is currently your favorite thing about Tera?
Sunni: Definitely the combat system it has the ability to go really far depending how the developers work on it. Everything just feels so fast paced and theres never a dull moment in fights.

Malera: Thank you so much Sunni for answering my questions!
Sunni: No problem.

Interview with Ironman, Samael's first Prime.

Interview with Ironman, server's first Prime.

Malera: First of all, let me congratulate you Ironman, to the servers first Prime!
IronMan: Thank you

Malera: First question, who are you? Tell us a little about yourself!
IronMan: I'm a long time MMO player, before TERA I was playing a small sandbox MMO called Mortal Online.

Malera: Okay, achieving "Server First" is no easy task! Do you have any other experience with similar achievments in other games?
IronMan: The only other MMO that I tried for server first was Rift. I played on Whitefall and was the highest Mage, would have been server first 50 Mage but at 48 I ran out of quests and got bored with it so I rerolled and still got third 50 Warrior

Malera: How did you prepare before powerlevling? Stacking up lots of energydrinks?
IronMan: I bought fruit, tea and biscuits and some energy drinks. I never did end up drinking the energy drinks, though. I tried sleeping 12 hours the night before but couldn't sleep as I was pretty nervous about the title.

Malera: So, you did plan to get this title? How long have this been on your mind?
IronMan: I didn't actually know there was an achievement for it until head start. So that's when I started planning for it.
I levelled a Berserker to 38 first and then Lancer & Warrior to 25/28 then I finally settled on Slayer, got him to 38 on the Monday before launch and did as many repeatables as I could be bothered with on Tuesday. Alot of people I asked said I wouldnt get it because we only had enough repeatables for level 39.5ish, a lot of others had them stacked to 42 but in the end that didn't really matter as we had more willpower to stay awake, which is what we were hoping for.

Malera: This leads me to my next question, about how many hours a day did you have to play to get the title?
IronMan: It took 49 hours to get the title, played straight through could have been a bit less, but we got stuck grinding and decided to try different repeatables to see what was best to grind.

Malera: Once getting the title, did you do anything special to celebrate?
IronMan: High fived each other and then slept for a long time

Malera: Can you share any tips for people that wish to try for titles like these in the future?
IronMan: Sure! Never give up, if you get stuck you just have to power through. I was ready to quit at 55 as I had to grind an entire level but my partner kept me going and in the end we got the title. Also, if you can, make sure you are able to stay awake for the duration. Others might get it if you have to go to sleep!

Malera: Last question! What are you looking forward to in Tera?
IronMan: I'm looking forward to how they are going to improve PvP - I really think this game has the potential to be an awesome PvP game as it's very skill based and every fight is different

Malera: Okay! Well, thank you for taking your time talking with me!
IronMan: No worries hopefully you got something useful out of all that

Interview: Elin Dance Squad's Mikichi

This is a interview done with Gwobbles"Mikichi" from EDS guild, concerning the recent events regarding EDS.

Malera: Okay so you're Mikichi, the creator of the guild EDS (Elin Dance Squad) Is that correct?
Mikichi: Yup, that's me. Smile

Malera: For those that have not heard about your Elin community, would you care to explain a little more about EDS and what you're all about?
Mikichi: At EDS, we are a community of like minded people. We consist of a boat load of Elins, as the name suggests. The guild goal is simple. We want you to enjoy TERA as much as we do! Therefore we prioritize having fun above all things!

Malera: What made you settle for a Elin only guild? Is it because the Elins are a cute race, or was there another reason?
Mikichi: To be honest - EDS was originally going to be a guild for me and a couple of my friends. While most of us liked the cuteness which radiated from Elins. The reason why we are a race exclusive guild, is because Elins are just plain awesome. I mean a lot of people like chasing people with ridiculously sized weapons right? Or is that just my twisted humor?

Malera: On the 27th of April, a statement came out on the Tera forums that EDS would not be playing on the essenia server, due to another guild attempted to steal your guild name. Could you fill us in a little on that matter?
Mikichi: During the time between OBT and Pre-launch, a lot of planning went into how we could roll our guild out smoothly and undistracted. At that point, we already saw signs of this happening. Therefore we captialized on the community's assumption that we will be playing on Essenia, thus decided to suprise everyone and save ourselves some trouble.

Malera: "Doom Multi Gaming Community" Took on responsability for this, claming that they did it because players from EDS stole names aswell. "Some member from EDS took other peoples names so why not" - Tashohnie
What is your answer to that?
Mikichi: Haha, I didn't even know they said something like that! It just increases the hilarity factor, and I know the whole community knows this - ever since EDS was created, we have had very little contact with other guilds. We kept to ourselves and stayed out of everyone else's way, so we held no grudge against anyone and we faulted no one either. Plus we at EDS are all mature people with morals. Stealing names gives us no benefits anyway.

Malera: Okay, one last question about this subject. How did you feel when you knew that this was attempted, did you feel let down by your fellow community or did you simply brush it off?
Mikichi: When I first found out the situation, I was not taken by surpise, and neither was the guild. We all saw it coming, and had planned countering measures ready for what was about to be thrown at us. I then calmed my mind - released a statement on the forums, and cleared up the rest of the rumours. I have to say, I, on behalf of EDS, want to thank everyone of the TERA community for not losing faith in us, and also for giving us so much support!

Malera: Durring your transfer over to the Samael server, a guild named "Elin Kill Squad" arose, how was it to be welcomed by a guild based on hatred for your favorite race?
Mikichi: When this guild arose on Samael, we immediately knew who this was. But since then, we have not even seen one member from that guild.

Malera: Did you feel worried at first, thinking that it would be a group of players constatly looking for you?
Mikichi: We did not feel threated by it at all. We are on a PVP server, and we understand we will not be on good terms with every guild/ player out there, therefore we expect there to be conflict 24/7. So having a guild called 'Elin Kill Squad' makes no differecne to us at all.

Malera: Since rolling on Samael server, how are you personally feeling about the server community, for these few short days that you have been here for?
Mikichi: I have to say, coming from Essenia, Samael seems a lot more peaceful. On second day of pre-launch, I was half expecting to be in a GvG already, but when I logged in, to my suprise, there was none. There have been times where we wished we were on Essenia, but most of the time, we are glad that we are on Samael and enjoying TERA together!

Malera: Now with Tera servers finally opening tomorrow for everyone to play on, without limitations. What are you most excited about? Expect finally get to play.
Mikichi: Everything! I personally look forward to end-game content! I am also excited to see how the political system will be shortly after launch! I think everyone in the guild is eager to find out too!

Malera: So, is it a possiblity that we'll see a little Elin Vanarch from the EDS guild in the future?
Mikichi: That is entirely possible! It is certain that we will be participating in the politcal side of the game. Plus it is also possible to see other Elin Vanarchs from other guilds too! Not just from EDS Smile

Malera: Okay, that was all the questions for now. Thank you so much for taking your time talking with me!
Mikichi: Haha, I thank you and everyone else that has to read and get critically hit by my wall of texts! Even I get sick of them myself sometimes xD!
